Drone Engineering Intern

Selected Intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Design UAV frames, propulsion systems, payload integration mechanisms, and power systems.
  • Develop and optimize flight control algorithms (PID tuning, navigation, autonomous flight).
  • Integrate avionics, autopilot systems (e.g., Pixhawk/Cube, Arduino, PX4), GNSS, telemetry, and sensors.
  • Build, assemble, and calibrate drone prototypes.
  • Conduct ground tests, flight trials, and endurance/performance validation.
  • Debug hardware/software integration issues and propose improvements.
  • Work on payload integration: EO/IR cameras, LiDAR, SAR, weaponization (for defense), or delivery mechanisms.
  • Develop communication links (RF, 4G/5G, Satcom) and ensure secure data transmission.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML team for autonomy, object detection, and anti-drone systems.
  • Translate R&D prototypes into scalable production-ready designs.
  • Document designs, test results, and compliance reports.
  • Work closely with procurement, fabrication, and quality control teams.

  • Other requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Mechatronics, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of UAV aerodynamics, propulsion, and flight control.
  • Experience with flight controllers (Pixhawk, Cube, PX4, Ardupilot).
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360) and simulation software (ANSYS, MATLAB, XFLR5).
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, PCB design, power systems, and embedded programming (C/C++, Python).
  • Familiarity with LiPo battery management, ESCs, BLDC motors, and RF systems

Responsibilities
  • Assist in drone design, assembly, and testing
  • Work on aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and propulsion systems
  • Support flight testing, data collection, and performance analysis
  • Assist in integrating electronics, sensors, and control systems
  • Document test results, technical issues, and improvements
Must Have
  • Pursuing or completed degree in Aerospace / Mechanical / Electronics / Robotics Engineering
  • Basic understanding of aerodynamics and UAV fundamentals
  • Knowledge of CAD tools or simulation software
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Interest in drones, robotics, and aerospace technologies
Nice to Have
  • Experience with drone building, RC systems, or UAV projects
  • Knowledge of flight controllers, autopilot systems, and sensors
  • Familiarity with 3D printing or fabrication tools
  • Experience with embedded systems or programming (Python, C/C++)
  • Participation in robotics competitions, UAV challenges, or research projects
